The Pet Beastro was founded to help people learn why alternative and natural pet food options are better for your animal. If you feed better, your dog or cat will feel better and ultimately live longer.

It is the mission of The Pet Beastro to help animal caregivers understand what they are feeding their pets and the nutritional support it provides to maintain health and longevity, healing cats or dogs from the inside out and promoting overall wellness. The Pet Beastro offers safe and natural pet food, treats, and supplies for cats and dogs. They offer many options that are organic, non-GMO, and single ingredient, and they carry the best & largest selection of raw pet food in Michigan.
Founded by a doctor of Naturopathy, The Pet Beastro offers wellness consultations with a strong emphasis on holistic pet care including nutrition consults, animal chiropractic care, and homeopathic & herbal remedies for common dog & cat health conditions. They offer same-day local pet food delivery in Metro Detroit, in-store shopping in Madison Heights, MI, curbside pick-up, and virtual shopping through their online store.
Pet Beastro’s Origins
Dr. Jill Tack’s passion started at a young age when she begged her parents for their first dog “Max.” Little did she know, he was going to be her best teacher. Max led her to learning about natural remedies and raw feeding. Later in life, when Max was diagnosed with cancer, she did extensive research and got deeply involved in learning how to heal animals naturally with herbs and homeopathy, as well as proper nutrition and food choices.
In October 2007, her retail business was established in Madison Heights, and they were able to service and educate more pet parents.
A few years later, The Pet Beastro moved to its current location in Madison Heights, expanding and renovating their space over the next 8 years to perfect their now 3,600 square foot location. While growing her business, Jill also increased her knowledge of natural health to further help cats and dogs. In 2016, Jill graduated from the Naturopathic Institute of Therapies and Education in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan as a Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor.
A Passion For Raw
Dr. Tack’s family was introduced to raw feeding over 20 years ago. During the late 1990’s raw feeding was deemed “drastic” and “different”, but when speaking with her mom she realized that raw food is what the dogs on their family farm ate. These dogs lived incredibly long, healthy lives, which helped convince Jill of the power of raw food.
The Pet Beastro continues to have a passion for raw today, and are big fans of Stella & Chewy’s frozen raw dog food and frozen raw cat food. “We love all things raw! We carry the largest raw pet food selection in Michigan. Our fan favorites are found in the freezer aisle. We love that the Stella & Chewy’s brand continues to fit our Beastro Promise.”

The Pet Beastro supports a wide variety of community organizations and local rescues. They provide their local K-9 police dogs (and even Pawcifer Donut, the police cat) with free food, treats, and chiro appointments. They partner with One Tree Planted, a 501C-3 non-profit with a focus on global reforestation, dedicated to making it easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity and help reforestation efforts around the world by planting trees!
