About Healthy Spot
Healthy Spot was founded by Andrew Kim and Mark Boonnark in 2008 with their first store opening in Santa Monica, CA. After living in San Francisco during the 2007 pet food recall, they were inspired to help other pet parents find the highest quality products and services. Andrew had recently adopted his pup, Maya, and was looking for a safe food option for her but found it hard to decipher between brands. Mark had lost his pup, Biscuit, to cancer and was concerned about the safety of the big pet food brand that he was feeding to Biscuit. Determined to create a better way to select the right pet products, they started Healthy Spot. Healthy Spot is committed to inspiring healthy pet lifestyles by creating authentic experiences and fostering community one pet at a time.
Healthy Spot now has 20 store locations across California, some of which offer dog grooming and small dog daycare services. Healthy Spot prides themselves on offering a unique, personalized experience for each customer from their pet food to their services. Their primary focus is nutrition and holistic health. All of their team members are advocates for the wellness of pets and receive frequent trainings in mastering product knowledge and love to apply their expertise to recommend products and services tailored to our furry friends. The concern for health, nutrition, and the well-being of pets was the foundation for Healthy Spot’s creation and continues to be the reason why they are passionate about serving their communities.
Healthy Spot’s favorite Stella & Chewy’s products they offer are freeze-dried raw Meal Mixers as these offer variety and increased protein to a dog’s diet. Plus, it gets pups very excited for mealtime!

Healthy Spot also works with other small businesses to offer locally manufactured products in their stores.
Healthy Spot is proud to support local rescue organizations and the pets that they serve through their Rescue Spot Program. They have hosted cage-free dog adoptions in their daycare rooms every Sunday in the past and plan on relaunching these later in 2021. They also select one of their Rescue Spot Partners each month to be the beneficiary of their Rescue Spot Round-Up efforts in-store. Customers can round their purchase total up to the nearest dollar and that difference gets donated to the chosen rescue organization.
