Stella's Spotlight: Wet Nose
Stella & Chewy’s is proud to support neighborhood pet stores. We believe that shopping local and supporting small business is important and we’re highlighting one of our retailers below: Wet Nose.
About Wet Nose
Founded in June 2002 in Geneva, Illinois, Wet Nose’s first store was only 1500 square feet. Like many independent pet boutiques, their company was inspired by their dog, Lilly. They were the first pet store in a 20 mile radius to offer frozen, raw food diets and they definitely felt like trailblazers. They continue to educate, counsel, and support their clients to this day about all things pet, from food, supplements, enrichment, and training and new this fall… Fear Free principles. Their mission is to improve the quality of life for pets and the people who love them.
The overall vibe of Wet Nose is what makes it special. Their team is well educated and passionate about the mission, but they also treat their clients like friends. It's not unusual for their clients to send cards and presents or food throughout the year, for no reason than just because. Their stores are clean, neat, organized, and unique. They touch all the senses, from the way their stores smell to the music they play. All of this is a part of the Wet Nose experience.
Wet Nose loves helping people. They're a pet-focused company with an ultimate goal to help the people who love them. They are currently in the process of moving and expanding their flagship store to an 8650 square foot space. They're designing the space to align with Fear Free principles and are adding self dog wash suites, grooming, a modality room for services like canine massage and acupuncture, a community room for seminars, dog training, birthday parties and play time, a fresh food deli, and a gourmet bakery. They are very excited about two HUGE walk-in freezers… more room for Stella & Chewy's!
Their favorite Stella & Chewy's product is Meal Mixers. Dogs and cats love them and they're so versatile. They can be used as a food, as a topper, or a treat.
Why Shop Local
Wet Nose wants to be a part of a robust community that offers uniqueness and charm. When you support a local business, you support the business owner, the local employees they pay, the landlord that owns the property, the merchants that supply the business, the tradesmen that support the business, the non-profits that rely on their donations, and put tax revenue to work in your community, not someplace else.
Wet Nose helps their local community: They are members of their local Chamber of Commerce, they donate to many local non-profits and families in need, and have lobbied for animal rights.
