Stella & Chewy’s is excited to share the largest donation made in our 17-year history! We’ve partnered with the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) to donate $530,000 in pet food totaling over 800,000 meals to assist pet parents in need through the ASPCA COVID-19 Relief & Recovery Initiative. The ASPCA’s response to the COVID-19 crisis includes the creation of regional pet food distribution centers that give dog, cat and equine owners free access to critical food and supplies as the outbreak continues to spread.

We are always committed to helping pets in need through our Journey Home Fund, which primarily focuses on the promotion of adult and senior pet adoption. However, we wanted to expand our efforts and do our part to help pet parents struggling to make ends meet during this critical time and provide them with best-in-class nutrition to keep their beloved pets thriving and their family together.

Our pet food donation will be available at the ASPCA distribution centers in Los Angeles, Miami, and New York City, and within the next few weeks it will be available at the ASPCA distribution center in Asheville, NC. The ASPCA is also supplying Stella & Chewy’s donated product to Columbus Humane’s independent food distribution center in Ohio.

-The ASPCA’s New York City distribution center received more than 41,000 pounds of dog and cat food from Stella & Chewy’s.
-The ASPCA’s Miami distribution center received more than 29,000 pounds of dog and cat food from Stella & Chewy’s.
-The ASPCA’s Los Angeles distribution center received more than 28,000 pounds of pet food, primarily for dogs and some for cats.
-The ASPCA provided approximately 30,000 pounds of Stella & Chewy’s donated pet food to Columbus Humane’s independent food distribution center in Ohio.

Food and supplies are available by appointment only at the Asheville, New York City, Miami, and Los Angeles distribution centers, and pet parents are encouraged to call the ASPCA Pet Food Distribution Helpline at (800) 738-9437 for more information and to request an appointment. Learn more.

In its first month since launching the ASPCA COVID-19 Relief & Recovery Initiative, the ASPCA® has assisted more than 40,000 animals impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. As the initiative continues to expand and bring lifesaving services to pet owners and animals most in need, the ASPCA has committed to helping approximately 200,000 animals nationally through its efforts. By providing access to free pet food, supplies, veterinary care, emergency boarding, information and crucial funding, the ASPCA is comprehensively addressing the most urgent needs of pet owners and animal shelters across the country, helping to keep animals safe and healthy.
