Know Before You Go

There are some important details to consider before walking your dog, regardless of where you go. First and foremost, you’ll want to make sure that wherever you take your pup is pet friendly! If dogs aren’t allowed, then you’ll have to find a new location. And, speaking of location, be sure to check out if there are any rules where you’re choosing to walk your dog before you leave. For example, some trails may require you to keep your dog on a leash whereas other options allow them to be off leash. One of the biggest, and most important, rules is to be sure and clean up after your dog wherever you walk them. You don’t want to leave their waste along the trail, so keep that in mind as you pack their gear.

Don’t Leave the House Empty Handed

Before you step out the door, you’ll want to pack your pet’s essentials to abide by the trail’s or site’s rule(s) and in case anything happens. This could include things like your dog’s leash and/or harness, poop bags to pick up their waste, extra water, a collapsible water bowl, treats to reward good behavior, nutritious food that can be stored safely in your bag, and shoes just in case their paws get cold or sore.

Staying Local

If you don’t want to take your furry friend too far, then give one of your nearby walking trails a try. In many locations, there are dog-friendly walking trails that are wider and more scenic than your average sidewalk. However, some trails can be busier than others, so it’s always encouraged to be respectful of other walkers, dogs, bicyclists, and more. If you need to keep your pup’s attention away from these distractions, we have a wide variety of pure, nutritious treats that come in many different flavors, textures, and sizes.

Going On An Adventure

Are you looking to spice up your pup’s walking routine? Going on an adventure can do the trick! Some research might be required to find your dog’s new favorite walking spot, but it’s important because you want to make sure that you take your pup somewhere that they’re allowed. As with any adventure, exploring a new spot with your furry friend could lead to a fun experience and many new memories.

Walks Serve Dual Purposes

Regardless of where you take a walk with your dog, it’s important to remember that walking your pup not only gives them exercise, but it also presents them with an opportunity to sniff and explore. Sometimes, you have limited time and it’s essential to get steps in for both you and your pet. And others, it’s valuable to take your time and allow your dog to smell all the scents and explore all the places. Whether for exercise or for exploration, be sure to take your dog on both types of walks when you can.
