Introducing Simply Stella’s Limited Ingredient Raw Coated Kibble Solutions

March 13, 2019

At Stella and Chewy’s, we understand how tough it can be to find a solution for a pet dealing with food allergies or food sensitivities. So many pet foods include a mix of proteins which make avoiding certain items nearly impossible.  It’s one of the main reasons why we offer such a variety of recipe selections, many of which are single source animal protein. We’re happy to share that we are expanding this selection to include our Simply Stella’s Limited Ingredient Raw Coated Kibble options for dogs!

The New Recipes

Our new recipes include the following:

Simply Stella’s Limited Ingredient Raw Coated Cage-Free Turkey Kibble

Simply Stella’s Limited Ingredient Raw Coated Cage-Free Duck Kibble

Simply Stella’s Limited Ingredient Raw Coated Grass-Fed Lamb

All three recipes feature single source animal proteins to keep ingredients limited and simple for those dogs dealing with food allergies or sensitivities.

Only the Good Stuff

In addition to featuring a single source animal protein, all of these recipes are coated in our Freeze Dried Raw recipes, are gently baked for a less processed meal, and are free from grains, potatoes and gluten. Our Simply Stella’s recipes contain guaranteed probiotics for optimal gut health, powerful levels of Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids to help support a healthy skin and coat, and guaranteed glucosamine and chondroitin for healthy hip and joint function. Meat is the number one ingredient for all three of the above recipes.

Answers to Common Questions

In launching our new Limited Ingredient Kibble options, we have already heard a few questions that we will address below.

What is a limited ingredient diet?

A limited ingredient diet features a single source animal protein and has fewer ingredients overall that are easy to digest for those more sensitive tummies. All our new options feature only one animal source protein, which correlates with their recipe name.

When is it best to feed a limited ingredient diet?

A limited ingredient diet, like our options above, is typically fed when a dog is dealing with a food sensitivity or a food allergy. Occasionally, limited ingredient diets can also be great for those who have more sensitive stomachs. Do you think your pet may have allergies or food sensitivities? Learn more on food allergies, how they compare with food sensitivities, and how to solve them. All our Limited Ingredient Raw Coated Kibble options are also appropriate for those without food allergies. Like all of our food options, we’re committed to offering best-in-class nutrition.

Are these options appropriate for all life stages?

Our Limited Ingredient Raw Coated Kibble options are appropriate for all breeds and all life stages, excluding the growth of a large breed puppy. If your puppy will be 70 lbs or larger as an adult, our Raw Coated Cage-Free Chicken Kibble for Puppies would be a more appropriate option offering complete and balanced nutrition. If your puppy will not be 70 lbs or larger as an adult, our Raw Coated Limited Ingredient Kibble options are an appropriate feeding solution.

Are these kibble options very different from the Raw Coated you have now?

Both our Raw Coated and Raw Blend Kibble options are gently baked and coated in our Freeze Dried Raw. This is still the case with our Raw Coated Limited Ingredient Diet Kibble – the difference comes down to the ingredients. Some of our regular Raw Coated Kibble options do offer a single source animal protein, including our Raw Coated Grass-Fed Beef Kibble. However, when comparing our Raw Coated Cage-Free Duck recipe to our Simply Stella’s Limited Ingredient Raw Coated Cage-Free Duck, you can see that the latter has fewer ingredients to keep things more simplified for those pups with allergies and sensitivities.

Will I need to transition to this new Simply Stella’s Raw Coated Limited Ingredient Kibble if I am already feeding my dog your Raw Coated Kibble?

We do still recommend a slow transition to the new recipe to avoid any digestive issues. Learn our best practices for transitioning your dog to a new food.

Is a limited ingredient diet meant for weight loss management?

Our Limited Ingredient Diet Kibble options are not specifically designed for weight loss. Many pet parents do share, though, that feeding our food does help their pet maintain a healthy weight.
