11 yr old Golden

Wednesday, October 14th, 2015 at 3:32 pm

I wanted to take a moment to thank you.  We have 3 dogs that we absolutely love and are family.  Our oldest golden retriever was failing.  She turned 11 in December and had lost 15 pounds and was completely repulsed by food.  I was in a local pet store and came upon your product.  After rejecting everything, and I mean everything, I tried your dried food and she ate.

She eats it dry, mixed in warm water and also eats your frozen raw foods.  I cannot tell you how happy we are.  She is gaining weight and doing so much better.  I just wanted to say thank you.

With gratitude,

Jennifer Freedman

Little Lulu

Little Lulu was born on 9.30.14. The runt of the liter at 1.5 lbs.  Sickly.  Had to syringe feed her…she just didn’t want to eat.  I mean she was picky!  Some days she’d only eat raw organic duck breast, or yogurt or steak…absolutely NO veggies.  A few weeks ago the SECOND vet said her kidney levels were so high that there MUST be something biologically wrong with her and we needed to prepare to put her down.  The sonogram would tell us HOW long we had left…at 2.5 lbs surgery wasn’t an option. But when they did it…they found NOTHING wrong!  I tried countless kinds of kitty pate and numerous dog foods and lots of human food…

Well for the last two weeks Lulu has been eating one kind of dog food, 3 times a day.  YOURS.  I have the chicken and the duck and will try the others but I just had to tell you!!  She is finally getting the balanced nutrition she needs.  We are THRILLED!!!!

Now, mysteriously she keeps getting better!  I think I’m going to keep feeding her well…

Thank you for making such an amazing high quality food!

All the best!

We just wanted to drop a note to tell you your product is the very best.

We switched from kibble to Stella & Chewy’s with our Akita mix when she was 6 years old.  Had she not developed “degenerative myelopathy” at age 12 we believe we would still have her.  She passed away at age 14 (the oldest dog we have ever raised.)  My husband and I believe it was the S&C that gave her the healthy and happy life she had.  No running to the vet for any issues of any kind (except once a year for rabies and a wellness check), no teeth cleaning and small firm stools.  Harley’s coat was thick and shiny and her teeth like pearls.

Later we “took in” from our neighbors a shepard/terrier mix who had severe stomach issues and was on medication.  We took Marley off the kibble she was eating (very slowly) – over a period of one month and then it was S&C.  No stomach issues, no medication and no trips to the vet except her annual.  Then we took in Dog No. 2, a Rottweiler, from still another neighbor.  Sasha did not have stomach issues but vomited off and on – her stools were “gigantic” and she shed constantly.  We recently started weaning her off her kibble to a diet of only S&C.  She stopped vomiting, her stools are getting smaller and more firm, she sheds less and her shiny coat is even more shiny.

End of story.  Who can argue with your product?  No one can.  We do spend more money on feeding our girls, but we save big time with no trips to the vet and no medication.  They are very happy and, of course, so are their parents!!

Thank you so much Stella and Chewy.

If you spend any amount of time on the internet, you have likely read an article or two about the benefits of raw feeding.  Sure, the experts agree that raw feeding is good for dogs, but is there a single soul out there who doesn’t shudder at the idea of prepping even one more meal (we have enough trouble getting healthy meals on the table, let alone in the bowl.)  We’re with you, even with the best of intentions, the thought of planning and preparing raw meals feels a bit overwhelming to us.  With the desire to balance optimal health for our dogs with time and money to do so, we have spent most of the past year experimenting with various methods of raw feeding.  Today, we are very excited to tell you about our latest discovery – Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers.

A Little Raw Goes a Long Way

Monday, September 21st, 2015 at 12:31 pm

I am slowly transitioning Bentley and Pierre to a raw pet food diet.  I truly feel that it is better for their overall health.  I am still having a heard time putting raw store-bought meat into their bowls.  I know that it is perfectly fine for our pets, but after a lifetime of being told not to eat raw meat it still makes me uneasy.  Thankfully, there is Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers.

You may remember a while back I did a series of posts on freeze dried raw pet food.  In those posts I talked about how, even if you eat kibble, adding some raw into your diet can improve your digestion, give you more energy as well as strengthen your immune system.  That’s why I am so excited to be telling you about a new way to add raw to your diet – Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers.

Have you considered feeding raw but it sounds like a lot of trouble?  Or is your pup a picky eater who could use an extra tasty boost to his diet?

We recently tried Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers and found it a super easy AND super tasty way to add raw food nutrition into Rocco’s diet.  Rocco most definitely agrees with the 9 out of 10 dogs who prefer their kibble with Meal Mixers, according to an independent taste test study conducted at the University of Wisconsin-Madison!

Mixin’ Up Meals With Stella & Chewy’s

The topic of what to feed your dog is extremely controversial.  You can feed your dog canned food, dry food, prepared cooked meals, raw, or any combination of these types.

At It’s Dog or Nothing, we believe that there is a place for all of the above feeding methods depending on your dog’s specific needs.  For Mauja and Atka, I always like to start with a base of premium-quality kibble.  However, I like to supplement their food to provide different nutrients, keep them interested, or simply to mix it up a bit.  That’s where Stella & Chewy’s comes into play.
