November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month – a special month for all of us at Stella and Chewy’s. As part of our effort to support adult and senior rescues with our Journey Home Fund, we are taking the month of November to feature adoptable seniors from our Journey Home Fund partners that are looking for their forever homes. Please consider adopting a senior pet and saving a life.
You really need to plant a Daisy in your life… 13-year old senior Beagle Daisy, that is! That’s me – I’m a sweet, adorable and loving girl who will be a bright spot in your days. Your heart will melt when you meet me, guaranteed! I might be a little shy at first, but I warm up quickly! I enjoy being around my doggy and kitty friends, and I would love to cuddle up next to you, too! I’m looking for a home in the Waukesha, WI area.
Daisy is available for adoption through HAWS.
Hi, I’m Albert, a 12-year old handsome tabby cat. I was brought to the shelter as a stray so my history is not known, but I’ve been enjoying hanging out in harmony with other cat friends in a small colony room. I like to take it slow at first when getting to know you, but once I do, I’m all in! I am affectionate, gentle and hoping to find a peaceful permanent home in the Waukesha, WI area.
Albert is available for adoption through HAWS.
Hi there, I’m Callie the Calico! I arrived as a stray at the end of October and the shelter thinks I’m around 9 years old. I’m a chatty girl and I’d love to find my best friend. I promise to be your tv watching buddy, sleep in with you on the weekends, and show you my love. I’m looking for a home in the Waukesha, WI area.
Callie is available for adoption through HAWS.
Are you looking for a classy and beautiful friend? I’m Elizabeth, and I’m your girl! I’m around 12 years old and enjoy lounging around. I’d love to find a quiet retirement home without kids or dogs where I can soak up the sun through a large window, lay on the couch and keep my human company. I’m looking for a home in the Waukesha, WI area.
Elizabeth is available for adoption through HAWS.
Knock knock. It’s me, Coconut! I’m quickly typing away on the computer I stole so I can send a message to cool humans out there. I’m only 8 years old and have a lot more fun years ahead! I’m currently living in a room with lots of other cat friends and I’m nice to them – although I’ve made myself the permanent greeter if I see a human walk in. I love to socialize, climb cat trees and show off how affectionate I am. I’m looking for a home in the Waukesha, WI area.
Coconut is available for adoption through HAWS.
Hey, my name is Tiger and I am 8 years old. Let’s be honest, I am looking for my very own human and home to call my own! A place with no other cats or children would be like a kitty bachelor pad for a guy like me! I’d like to chill on a comfy bed and sit next to you. But hey, sometimes we all need a little space. I do not like to be picked up, but I LOVE to come over for a head and chin scratch. I have been waiting here for four months just watching for my perfect person to come meet me! I’m looking for a home in the Waukesha, WI area.
Tiger is available for adoption through HAWS.
Hi, I’m Ally! I am a 9 year old, 8 pound ShihTzu. I am now with Senior Paws Sanctuary and up to date on vaccines, spayed, Heartworm free and micro chipped. I love to play with toys and other small dogs. I am looking for a home in the SW Florida area.
Ally is available for adoption through Senior Paws Sanctuary.
My name is Dolly, and I am a senior terrier mix. I weigh about 18 lbs, and I am 10 years old. I am almost blind, but I don’t let that stop me! I love being outside and I really enjoy a good meal!! I am a gentle old soul and life hasn’t been easy in the past for me, but I am enjoying my senior years with Senior Paws Sanctuary and I am looking for a home in the SW Florida area. I like being around other dogs, cats and older kids. I am looking for a home in the SW Florida area.
Dolly is available for adoption through Senior Paws Sanctuary.
I’m Nellie, a female Miniature Pincher, weighing in at about 5 lbs. I do have some motor skill issues due to a birth defect, but I am incredibly loving/lovable and I love to be held. Due to my disability, I do need to be the only dog in the household and with a more experienced pet parent. I walk shakily and often stumble, but I am not in any pain. I would prefer a quiet home, without other active dogs or children. I am looking for a home in the SW Florida area.
Nellie is available for adoption through Senior Paws Sanctuary.
Hello, my name is Lucy Lu! I am only about 5 lbs and 8 years old. I am very shy and easily scared; I often get scared of loud, fast movements. I do need to be in a home without other dogs, and I need someone patient willing to spend time with me, to show me that humans are fun and can be kind. I am looking for a home in the SW Florida area.
Lucy Lu is available for adoption through Senior Paws Sanctuary.
Hello all, my name is Waffles and I am a senior male poodle / terrier mix. My eyesight and hearing are not the best, but I am a quiet little guy who loves to nap and snuggle. I am about 10 yrs old, and I weigh 6 lbs. I get along with other dogs, but I am not very active. I am looking for a loving human to share my golden years with. I am looking for a home in the SW Florida area.
Waffles is available for adoption through Senior Paws Sanctuary.
Did you ever read the children’s book series, Clifford the Big Red Dog? Now is your chance to have your own Big Red Dog! Hi, I’m Rusty, and I was found in June 2018 abandoned in a backyard for days during 103 degree temperatures. There was scarring around my entire neck from an extremely tight collar or chain. At almost 100lbs, I am a big 8-year old dog, but I promise I am as sweet as can be. I love to go for walks outside, hang out at cool places like dog-friendly breweries, and be with my humans. I’m pretty easy too – I won’t even notice if you hide my arthritis and hypothyroid medications in yummy treats! After a quick adjustment period, I’ll show you I’m great with other dogs of all sizes.
Rusty is available for adoption through Newman Nation: Senior Pets United. (Illinois)
Hello, I’m Sumo and I was rescued as a stray in Chicago in September 2017. The noisy, crowded streets were terrifying, and I was literally paralyzed with fear for days after entering the shelter. Luckily, a nice rescue came and saved me. I’ve been told that I’m the longest-term resident with the rescue and I just don’t understand why no one has fallen in love with me yet. I’m only around 11 years old so you can enjoy many more years with me. I have great manners and always keep my food dishes and litter box clean and tidy. I’m not a demanding cat, I’m just content to lounge around in beds, on your desk chair and in boxes. I enjoy attention and LOVE catnip toys.

Emerson here! I was rescued after being hit by a car in August 2018. It really hurt, but I was wagging my tail because I knew I was finally done running around the scary streets and maybe I could find a home. I needed emergency surgery to remove my ruptured spleen, but everyone told me that I recovered like nothing had ever happened. I am a very loving and goofy older guy around 10 who loves treats, following humans around, and stealing your spot on the couch. I’ll also prove I’m great with other dogs of all sizes and cats.
Emerson is available for adoption through Newman Nation: Senior Pets United. (Illinois)
Do you need a noise machine to help you fall asleep at night? I will happily replace any device with my impressively loud purrs! My 13-year old self was rescued from a shelter in April 2018. They told me I was “hospice,” whatever that means, because I was in such poor condition. With love, good medical care and proper nutrition from an awesome foster mama, I gained back the many pounds I had lost and now have a stunning, shiny black coat. I would love to be your cuddle buddy and help keep you warm this winter.

I’m Lenny! Not to be confused with rockstar Lenny Kravitz. I’m a 10-11 year YOUNG, vivacious chihuahua from the San Diego Bonita Shelter. The shelter was worried that I wouldn’t get adopted because of my unkempt teeth and fatty tumor on my chest, so I was brought to Lionel’s Legacy. They gave me all the care I needed to start a new life and get a second chance. Don’t worry, unlike the Rockstar human I share my name with, I won’t go trashing hotel rooms or stay up too late singing. I am a very sweet and social pup and get along with other dogs big or small. I always make myself right at home on any sofa as if I’ve lived there for years! I love cuddles, fetching my toys, and going for long walks. I’m even great at sharing AND potty-trained!
Lenny is available for adoption through Lionel’s Legacy. (California)
I’m as sweet as pie and although I’m 11 years young, I still love to play fetch and soccer! If you are a Jack Russell Terrier fan, than I’m your gal! I am great with dogs, little kids and I’m potty trained. The shelter even gave me an A, the highest behavior rating possible! I have had full labwork and a dental so my breath is minty fresh for lots of kisses. I’m ready to join a family – just make sure you’re stocked with tennis balls!
Missy is available for adoption through Lionel’s Legacy. (California)
Hello! I’m Betsy Ross and I am 16lbs of pure sweetness. I love belly rubs, and my favorite is a good chin scratch. I like to play with toys and go for walks. I am house trained and crate trained and love to welcome my family home with a dancing routine! I would prefer to be the only love of your life, but I can get along with other dogs with proper introductions. I just want to please and I am very obedient. Will you take me home?

I’m a 13-year old Georgia peach. Well, actually a Basenji, and Vintage Paws literally saved my life. When my human dad had to move to his son’s house, the son threatened to take me out back and shoot me! Fortunately, a kind person took me away and brought me to Vintage Paws. They say I have a heart murmur, but it only makes me love you more. I had a previous neurological issue that causes me to walk in large circles, but I can also walk a straight line.

Sometimes life is hard and things happen that you’d like to forget. But then, someone came along and took me to Vintage Paws where it’s warm and cozy and everyone I pass reaches out a hand to scratch me behind the ears or rub my tummy. They don’t even care that I’m 15 years old and blind. They tell me what a smart boy I am because I found my way around really fast. In spite of what happened to me, I still have hope that I can find someone new that I can trust, who will love me and take care of me. I promise to return that love 100 times over.
Chance is available for adoption through Vintage Paws. (Florida)
Howdy! My name is Snoopy and I’m a 15-year old Schnauzer. I’ve been with Vintage Paws for about 4 months now, ever since I was found alone in an abandoned car even though I’m nearly blind and mostly deaf. But, I’m doing fine here with the Vintage Paws gang, both human and canine, and I always welcome one and all with smiles and a happy tail. I mean, look at me! I’m sweet, cute, and have such soft and curly fur you’ll want to bury your hands in it. And when you do, I’ll cuddle up right next to you and become your best snuggle buddy.

Hi there! They tell me I’m a Lhasa Apso and I’m 16 years old. I used to live with my Vintage Paws foster mom and I loved her so much. She loved me too and held me on her lap, giving me hugs every day. But then, she passed away and I’m back looking for a home again. I’m blind and deaf now but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying life. I feel the sun on my back and smell the wind as it blows through our big backyard. And, guess what? All the volunteers still hug me and love me and take good care of me. What else could a guy want?

Hi everybody! I’m Rocky and I’m 10 years old. I’m a chihuahua/min-pin mix and yep, I am that cute! I loved living in my own house with my own dad but he passed away a couple years ago and I had to go live in a very scary shelter for awhile. But, eventually, I made my way to Vintage Paws and life is good again. I like taking long walks and wagging tails with other dogs as I pass by but at home I prefer to be the only dog. Hey, what can I say? I like my space. And get this – I’m even potty trained! Yep, I am THAT cool.

I don’t really like to think about my past. Me and 19 other dogs were jammed together in dirty wire pens outside in the bitter cold, hot sun and rain. We were always hungry, thirsty, filthy and infested with fleas and nasty parasites. Life was really hard for us. When Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office found us, they arrested our owner and took me to Vintage Paws where all the nice people made me feel safe and warm, filled my tummy and gave me a soft place to sleep and medicine to heal my body and soul. Now I’m safe and loved and looking for the forever home I deserve.
